5. "Plan B 2.0", by Lester
R. Brown, president
of Earth Policy Institute, surveys the worldwide environmental
devastation wrought by breakneck industrialization and
the heedless, auto-centric, "throwaway economy. Fortunately,
Brown says, "all the problems we face can be dealt
with using existing technologies," at a manageable
cost. He spends most of the book exploring advances in
sustainable agriculture, wildlife and resource conservation,
renewable energy, hyper-efficient cars, mass transit and
appliances, and recycling. Available in bookstores. www.earth-policy.org.

Diet Change for our future and that of our planet
1. "Diet for a New America",
by John Robbins. Robbins covers
factory farming, health & nutrition,
and the environmental benefits of vegetarian diets. The
content has been meticulously researched, with Robbins
offering dozens of pages of footnotes. If you're looking
for a book with solid, hard proof of how vegetarians easily
get plenty of protein, why meat is the #1 killer in the
U.S., or how badly farm animals are treated, you won't
do better than this volume. Diet for a New America has
been credited with launching the second wave of vegetarianism
in the U.S. when it was published (and nominated for a
Pulitzer) in 1987. It's still timely today. www.foodrevolution.org.
2. "The China Study", by T. Colin Campbell,

the most important book on nutrition and health to come
out in the last 75 years. Everyone should read it, and it
should be the model for all nutritional programs taught

The science is conclusive. Dr. Campbell's integrity and
commitment to truthful nutrition education shine through.

CANCER COVER-UP
1. "Politics in Healing" by Daniel Haley is
a book with information about alternative treatments that
have been intentionally withheld from public knowledge.
It explains who has prevented the truth from being revealed
and how they got away with it. A must read for people that
wonder why "everyone" doesn't know about this
or that treatment option.
2. "Racketeering in Medicine",
The Suppression of Alternatives, by Dr. James P. Carter. Exposes how Americans
are being deprived of effective, economical treatments
because those treatments are not highly profitable for
surgeons and pharmaceutical companies.
3. "Dr. Max Gerson: Healing the Hopeless" by,
Howard Straus. Howard Straus, the grandson of Dr. Max Gerson,
discusses the struggles this medical pioneer faced as he
challenged orthodox medicine with his nutritional protocol.
The biography follows Dr. Gerson through Nazi persecution,
then persecution in the United States from the medical
establishment, the continuation of his work despite the
opposition, his questionable death and finally the present,
where daughter Charlotte Gerson and the Gerson Institute
work to continue his legacy and vision. His most famous
patient was Dr. Albert Schweitzer, who was 75 years old
when Gerson cured him of advanced diabetes. Schweitzer
returned to his African hospital, won the Nobel Prize,
and worked past age 90. Schweitzer wrote, "I see in
Dr. Gerson one of the most eminent geniuses in the history
of medicine."
4. "When Healing Becomes A Crime" by
Kenny Ausubel. The story of Harry Hoxsey and his fight
with the medical
establishment over unorthodox cancer treatment. A medical
drama and an important historical episode in the development
of alternative medicine in the twentieth century.
5. "Living Proof" by Michael Gearin-Tosh is
another book with a new twist regarding alternative treatments.
Professor Gearin-Tosh of Oxford University In Oxford, England
tears into the "diagnosis" that is given him
by the expert oncologist's in England and the U.S. His prognosis
was quite grim, being diagnosed with an aggressive form
of multiple myeloma. The best-case scenario he was given
was a "possible" 3-year life extension with treatment
(Chemo & radiation). This book was written 8 years
after he received that news. He gives new interesting insight
that reveals the great difference between the medical community's
definitions of common English words (diagnosis) and our
traditional understanding of those words. The book also
describes the treatments that he is using to assure his
FAR longer than expected abundant life.
